The best time to visit Kochi is between the months of October through April. This is because the weather and climate is the best during these times. Usually during the day, the temperature is between 80 and 90 degrees. Therefore, it is not too hot to be able to enjoy the city and its attractions. Then at night, the temperature gets down to about 70 degrees so it is a perfect time to take a tour of the city with a nice walk. Since the city is so close to the Equator, the hotter months can be too hot for tourists.

A lot of tourist like to visit Kochi during the winter. This is because the sun shines a lot during the winter so it is a great place to get away from the cold weather and warm up a little bit. At the first of October, Kochi will see a little bit of rain but it is just enough the cool the people off and water some of the farmland of Kocki. But if a person is really needed their pores to be opened up to get a great treatment, then they should visit Kochi in October or November.

In speaking to our friend (a gal who has taken many regular tours worldwide but who also was good at being a tour guide herself in many ways) as to which way to travel to San Francisco, she highly recommended we do this ourselves, at our own leisure and pace. We invited her to accompany us, as we knew we’d be in for some excitement doing that.

This traveling on our own was, indeed, a good thing because there were times when we didn’t feel well or had something else unexpectedly come up for us to do or see while we were there for 2 weeks.

One of these events that came up was a nasty fall as we were panning for gold in the famous “Woods Creek.” Falling on a rock in the creekbed (on an elbow no less) pretty much squelched activities for the next day, so we were day for a day of rest and recuperation.

Another thing that came up, also unexpectedly, was that the husband of a couple we know near San Jose wanted to give us his own special tour of the business at which he worked–a very upscale grocery store. We didn’t want to miss that, of course, and would have if we would have been signed up with a regular tour.

The friend who went with us absolutely loves plants and flowers and also would have missed out on a nice purchase of a seemingly rare plant at this particular store. Well, at least it was one she was unfamiliar with and had never seen in our area in Pennsylvania, and she’s pretty much seen (or has) them all.

The above are just some facets of doing your own travel, at your own leisure. Not everyone, of course, has their own friend who can help in the traveling process or be their own personal tour guide, so that is another matter to consider.

Have you ever found yourself traveling somewhere, and unsure of the tipping practices? This can sometimes be an uncomfortable feeling, and possibly lead to some embarrassing situations. When traveling in Kochi, India, it is customary to tip 10 to 15 percent for most services. It is important for you to know who to tip, and when to do so.

Some tips are paid after services are rendered, but there are a few who you will want to tip before a service is provided. While staying in a hotel, room service attendants and porters are most often tipped in total at the end of the stay. You will want to base your tip on the services performed and the efficiency in which the service was completed. If you are staying as guest in someone-s home, check with them before tipping the help.

In restaurants and dining establishments, the 10 – 15 percent rule is still applicable. If you are dining at a fine restaurant, it is standard to have a 10 percent gratuity added to your bill. If you wish, you may tip additionally, but is to your discretion. In smaller establishments tips are not typically based off a percentage, but on performance of the services offered.

It is your option to tip a taxi driver; a tip is not required or expected. If you should decide to tip, then a standard 10 percent of the fare is sufficient.
